Police "not responsibe" for raiding wrong house by DesertRat662007-08-13 11:20:49

I agree. This seems to have been an honest mistake by raptillicus 2007-08-13 11:35:07
We all know the cops aren't perfect, and we expect them to make ammends when they make mistakes. They should pay for any damage done to the house, etc. But what were the grounds for his suit? Emotional distress? I'm not sure anything else will stand. The article seems to indicate that they had a legit warrent. You could argue that the police we too rough or rude or whatever, but that's a whole different question, and not an arguement I see anyone winning any time soon. I agree with the ruling, otherwise any time a warrent is served that doesn't turn up the expected evidence the end result would be a lawsuit, which would cripple law enforcement.
