"It's like riding a bike. Once you learn, by hadji 2007-08-13 10:29:59
you never forget."

Why is this true? Is the same true of learning to ride a unicycle? Walking a high wire?

What is the primary challenge in learning to ride a bike? Is it learning to use your own balance, or is it learning to let go of your anxiety so you don't interfere with the gyroscopic forces that want to keep you upgright despite your panicky interference?

If it's learning to use your own balance, but the same permanent skill memory would not be true or a unicycle or a high wire, what would be the difference?
