Last time I had this issue with a Maxtor drive using Disk Manager all I had to do was reinstall the Disk Manager software and it worked fine after that. That is one reason I try to avoid that type of software if at all possible. You should be able to go into the partitioning setup and it detect the existing partition, etc. Just don't have it reformat or change the partitioning. That is a guess though. hopefully someone here that is more familiar with lifeguard can help. You can try to call their tech support, but I am not sure of the quality of their people.
