I remember an interview with Brian Greene where he was asked about his belief regarding God and religion. He said he hasn't seen anything that would make God necessary, but he hasn't seen anything to disprove it either. He made it quite clear that he didn't believe in God, he didn't thing God was necessary at all, but if people want to believe, there's nothing to say they're wrong.
He got a lot of respect from me for his attitude toward the question. He was not at all shy to express his non-belief, but neither was he hostile, nor did he unnecessarily attack those who did believe. |
