Anyway, what about ... ah, I can't find the translation. Only the Dutch, German, and Swedish Wikipedia have articles on it. Anyway, it's a thin thingy which covers the external vagina (vulva?), used to prevent oral-vaginal transmission of STDs. Mind you, I have no clue on how common those are --- in fact, I'm not very well-informed at all when it comes to the risks of oral-vaginal transmission. Herpes is one of the candidates, I suppose.
