There was with the Savings and Loans

I know banks are required to keep a certain ratio of assets to risks. I don't know if that has changed, but I do know that certain lenders are/were making higher risk loans than they used to. This relaxing of lending standards is part of what killed the Savings and Loans. For whatever reason lenders decided to get greedy and take a huge risk, and it's starting to bite them in the back side.
