The problem is that over time, people change positions: CEO's of companies leave the business and become consultants to politicians, or even run for office themselves, etc.

Over time, you have people from the industry more and more being the ones who call the shots, if only indirectly.

No chance to reverse the trend. As I said, it's become institutionalized, which means removing the institution. You can't do that from within, only from without.

Hence the need for the collapse.
