Disturbing Question of the Moment by UGuardian2007-08-08 15:09:32
  Explaination by UGuardian 2007-08-08 15:40:47
The act of parenthood and conventions isn't new. If you think about it most conventions are held in or based around hotels. In some cases (religious and political conventions mostly), ladies of the evening are known to swarm into the town the convention's held in or even camp out near or in the hotels.

It's creepy, but humans do what they do best at conventions all the time.

At a recent convention some teenagers sowed their seed quite freely. Now several of them are HIV+ . They were a couple of dumb kids having fun in a dangerous way, and their little adventure has done a wonderful job of making people uneasy.

As a result the people that run related conventions are now discussing whether or not they should attempt to educate people about the risks, offer rubbers in case someone needs some, or whether they should just allow Natural Selection to do it's job.

The question in the TLP describes the most palatable idea so far; most of the ideas presented really made people quite angry and were thus tabled rather fast.

I'm not sure it's their place to educate or protect people, but I dunno; I never go to these things.
