I know it's benign. Mostly. I don't really find it offensive most of the time either. Today I felt it was a bit out of hand though. Also, I know I am perhaps more sensitive to this than most people. One of the reasons I was hesitant to bring this up is because I know how hard it would be for anyone to set a standard as to how much innuendo is acceptable. This is also one of the reasons I adressed it to SnArL in respons to his post and not the board at large. I feel it is safer and easier to ask a specific person to tone it down a bit then to ask for a ruling on rules of acceptability.
I would like to say, though, that your reaction to my post is one of the reasons that I so enjoy this forum and most of the people in it. Your reaction, while not typical, is not exactly rare on this board, though it most certainly would be in the world at large. From one slightly off UFie to another, Thanks for the open mind. |
