The US Economy, and bailouts. by Illiad 2007-08-08 14:25:04
Thanks to the link to the Jim Cramer meltdown below, I did some more digging. There's some talk that many large-ish financial institutions are facing an imminent collapse. These are, of course, the same institutions who trumpet the glory of free market capitalism.

Doesn't that mean that the same financial institutions shouldn't be bailed out? That they shouldn't even try to beg the government for a bailout? If free markets are what they believe in, shouldn't they be permitted to implode? You know, free market forces and all that.
