misunderstood. I have a recollection of reading some of his work, and he came across to me as being aggressively atheistic to the point of calling anyone who believed in anything an idiot.

Just in the small bits that Phoon posted, that's still the impression I get. If I'm wrong, then I'm wrong, but I'm not really interested in investing the time or the effort to find out. So if an apology owed, then I'll just offer it here. But that's only if I'm wrong.
