the data printed on the license are your name, birthdate, eye/hair color, weight (and a link to your SSN - SSNs used to be used in VA for Drivers' Licenses).

Your driving history can be a pretty detailed record of your life.

And how are they going to keep records straight, when (for example) credit reporting bureaus constantly confuse people with similar names (or the same name)? The potential for abuse or really painful mistakes abound.

This is the kind of record-keeping that would cause a Heinlein character to move out of a country. Just sayin...
