Except that I've heard rumors that "next gen" TiVo's aren't going to let you fast forward through commercials. If/when that happens, I will probably never watch commercial TV again.

However, I've noticed that the ads on regular TV often take fast forwarding into account, and have their branding on screen long enough for an impression to be made on the brain, even sped up.
