It's what I consider "soda money": a few dollars kept in the wallet to use in vending machines or for small purchases. If the loan is out of soda money, I generally dismiss the offer of repayment. If they insist on repaying me anyway, so be it, but I won't hound them for it or hold it against them if they don't.
