20-40 million years in the making, only a few hundreds in the unmaking. We will never again see a living baiji. It has gone the way of the dodo and the passenger pigeon.

Another victim of our uncaring impact on the world we live in. "We" as in "the Human race". Hopefully it won't turn out that it was badly needed.
