A body that is drawn toward another, usually larger, body by a force or forces(gravity, magnetism, Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs, greed)...
yet has enough directional momentum to maintain an orbit* around the other body thus avoiding becoming assimilated by...
but cannot seem to generate enough momentum to break free from the attracting force of the attracting body and become it's own independently free moving body...
*Note that the orbit is usually eccentric. This eccentricity of the orbit can, at times give the moving body the illusion that it is free moving at times.
