lasers cover space instantly, and they burn through things, cutting them up, rather than causing stupid explosions.
mines, missiles, etc behave the way they are supposed to.
ship engines in the docking space are a real danger to the station.
(one guy threatens to burn his way out through the hull with the engine exhaust)
the plasma cannon things are a little silly, I'll admit. but they sit there, pounding away like the howitzers they've replaces, recoil and all.
shields, where they exist, are the property of the elder races, the they tightly fit the skin of whatever they are protecting. |
