Science Fiction question by UGuardian2007-07-29 14:45:23
Whatever is used with reasonable skill. by werehatrack 2007-07-29 16:38:49
What I abhor is sloppy violations of the laws of Physics. If you're going to postulate energy weapons in a space battle, I can ignore the coruscant beams for dramatic purposes...but please, no gravity-and-atmosphere fireballs, and remember that stuff which blows up does not simply evaporate and vanish; it leaves *debris*. Running through the fireball of the weapons platform that has just been hit by your side's unexpected ally at the end of the battle should *not* leave your ship unscathed when it's already been stated that you have no forward defenses left. (B5 tended to get more things right than usual, but that one just grated.)
