Go into explorer options. Turn on 'show hidden files'. turn OFF 'hide protected operating system files'. go into the directory where the game dir is (ex. if its \program files\example game\ go to \program files\. right click \example game\ directory, choose properties. check 'read only' click apply (including all subfolders and subfiles). then turn OFF read only once that is complete, and click apply, (including all subfolders and files). If that doesnt do it, then it is definitely not a permissions problem, it is a problem with the update executable not being written correctly.
