if you don't have the permissions to do it as admin, let's try it as the SYSTEM user, shall we? start by doing this (from a command prompt) "at <time> /interactive cmd.exe" (where <time> is something a minute or two off) that'll give you a command prompt as the system user, from there, try attrib again. if that doesn't work, i'm stuck.
