Needed: Consumer router with outgoing packetfilter by Qcumber-some 2007-07-29 07:22:54
I need two routers of the consumer class which are able to do simple packet filtering in both directions (not only protecting the "green" network from the "red" one).
Broadband (DSL) please, without modem, and no Wifi please.
We already dropped one Linksys which I can't remember, and are about to do so again to so called Netgear WebSafeRouter which both said something about firewall, but were not able to drop packets originanting from inside.
I'd think about something Linksys/Cisco, but I also would take a Netgear if necessary. Please refrain from suggesting something D-Link.

Aye. 2 NICs (or 2 VLANs) + Linux (or *BSD) = good. by bwkaz2007-07-29 09:02:59
