Anyone who needs a gun RIGHT NOW probably doesn't need a gun at all. That being said, I also believe that there are certain instances when the waiting period should be waived...like in the case of a woman who has a TRO against an abusive boyfriend. The actual legal wrangling involved would need to be VERY complex, though. (Very often, the other party will also get a TRO just to muddy the waters). I think you should be required to take a training course covering gun safety before you can purchase a gun. NO government regulation needed here, have the training center issue a certificate, have the gun store verify that the certificate was properly obtained and not forged.
