self-defense:

I'm intentionally harming another human. Whether justified or not, this is (in my opinion) an evil act. I may have no alternative if I want to stay alive; but I'm not certain that preservation of life is always the most important thing (and the same is true for any person who feels that it can be better to die for a cause than to give it up and live).

As I said: I'd possibly kill another human being in self-defense (if I had fewer than a couple of seconds to think about it). I'd still consider it evil.
