My valuation of human life... by leistico 2007-07-27 12:18:00
is supreme. Man's life, as a man (nee Human Being), is paramount. Necessary for a man's existence is control over his own life--his right to life. Ancillary to that right to life is the necessary right to liberty, the necessary right to own and dispose of private property as he sees fit, and the right to pursue his own happiness as he sees fit. As he harms no one else in his pursuit of happiness or does not violate the similar rights of any other individual while enjoying his own rights, he can do as he will.

If necessary, I will defend my life as a human being, because I value living as a human being. If you value living as a subject or a caged animal in a zoo being tended to by nominally-benevolent keepers while hoping the other animals in the zoo are as nominally benevolent as your keepers and masters, then more power to you, and I hope beyond all belief that there never comes a time when my life is dependent upon your actions.
