During the Viet Nam war, soldiers with fully automatic weapons in large groups would expend an average of 50,000 rounds of ammunition per confirmed kill. However Single or Two man Sniper Teams would expend less than 2 rounds on average per confirmed kill.

There was one incident where a 2 man Sniper Team Pinned down an entire division of soldiers without outside support for several days. Superior skill and tactics ruled the day.
