What is the purpose of civilization? What does civilization give us that is desirable? Consider the advance of civilization, from hunter/gatherer societies, through nomadic herders, and agricultural feudal societies to what we now consider the pinnacle of civilization. Or maybe you'd point to a past culture as more civilized as ours?
