Regardless of how the object influences people, the responsibility still remains with the *person*. You both agree on that.

As such, banning objects because of their powers is creating a nanny-like condition for the people. "You don't have to worry about being responsible for your actions ... We'll just remove everything that could cause you to act irresponsibly."

You're *teaching* people to be dependent on others, which is a very very VERY bad thing.
