*Everything* you download from the internet is *locally* present on your computer.
The only thing such a service can do is to make it more awkward to save the content locally.
The same principle applies to other content than eMails, like mp3, videos etc: You can use any nasty technology to prevent copying of the content, but as it must be present in unencrypted form to be enjoyed, there will always be a way for some clever person (like Miranda here) to copy it.
So DRM, Palladium, or any other 'copy-prevention technology' is inevitably doomed. |
