It's what I use to let me check via OE.
MS tried to get me to pay for access to my own Hotmail account, and I *did* try the "2 week free trial", but even THAT still wouldn't let me connect to Hotmail via Outlook.
We went round & round, me even going so far as to allowing them to connect via Remote Desktop & verifying that the settings were correct in Outlook, and it STILL didn't work.
I ended up canceling the trial, writing a scathing letter to MS decrying their screwing me over on an account with a service that existed before they ever got near it, worked before they bought it, and once they got their hands on it, it failed to work with their own software...
I've used HotPop ever since, check my Hotmail daily through OE, and haven't given Outlook or MS's paid access another glance.
