doing things? HTTP access to email in a mail client is new to me.

And I wouldn't be surprised if the Windows Live division FUBAR'd their time table to move to POP3 or offer their own, independent client (which I've heard rumors about last year).

Don't forget as well that what we reference as "Microsoft" consists of many large, independent divisions. Where internal bickering can result in funny things.

Still, I don't think that Vista is to blame (since POP3 and IMAP work).

It is amusing, but not something to hold against an OS.
