The GOOD news today is that by hadji 2007-07-25 15:58:59
I finally got the Aironet to work with IAS as a RADIUS server. It was a certificate issue which was solved by a certificate reissue.

Now, I have to find out if it's possible on a single IAS server to assign different access policies to different clients. It seems to be universal where all access policies apply to all clients. That's not what I want, and if there's no way to change that, we'll have to set up an additional IAS server. :-(
