along the lines of the cold war of "when we free the oppressed people they will rise up and do the rest themselves...and we can go home tomorrow..." Yeah...pipe dream....

I would have LOVED to be a fly on the wall at the congressional finance hearings and in the oval office when the planning of what would happen *after* the invasion was discussed. Did they say "Oh well, we will only finance the invasion and everything else will need to happen after that." or did they really think that a people that don't know any other way of life would *magically* figure out democracy.
