the most critical stage for testing is the period right before the race. I don't understand all the science of it, but apparently the times when no one knew where Rasmussen was, and he missed a test, were when it was most critical that a rider be tested.
If a rider were going to dope, then starting after the race began apparently would not have as much of an effect.
Oh, and at this point, I feel really bad for Kloden. He was top-10 on GC and was riding a great race. But, when Astana pulled out it ended his tour as well. |
