Tho I do not know you, and can only make some blind guesses from your story... is it possible you are actually too nice? I know its a stereotype that girls go for bad guys.. but they do in fact have an annoying tendency to stay away from the genuinely nice guys.

Maybe its some sub-conscience drive to "fix" men, who knows.. but being their friend is about the one guaranteed method to having them never look at you like a boyfriend.

I too have been there.. girl seems all gung-ho.. then it fizzles... no obvious reason. Pathetic as it sounds, being truly nice dosen't work, or at least very rarely.

Maybe you're just too nice of a guy :)
