The question makes me realize I have to put an update in my LiveJournal someday...

Anyway, his appointment window was 10am - 2pm. He showed up a few minutes just before 4pm and asked what I wanted done. I told him we just needed the cable boxes exchanged. He said he didn't have those on the truck and he'd have to go back to base. o_O (Don't they prepare for their calls?) At about 4:30pm he shows up again. He replaced the box on my TV (yay for real HD!) and that went okay. Then he tried to replace the upstairs box and realized that the second box that he picked up from the shop was broken. :-/ By the time he was finished troubleshooting the second box, it was about 5:30pm. He was unable to get another box that day, so we're only half done. We have to call and set up another appointment. *sigh*

I don't really blame the guy himself, just the company. Apparently two guys didn't show up for work that day. And they'd done this several times before and yet they were still working there. So the appointment wasn't supposed to be done by the guy that came to our place, he was just picking up his co-worker's slack. Supposedly, that's why he didn't have the equipment on his truck (but you'd think they would just automatically have a few boxes on hand just in case). The broken box also wasn't his fault, it was the company's fault, since they should be checking these things.

So to sum up, I was stuck at home all day Saturday and still have to set up another appointment to get this completed. I should charge them for the extra time I waited....
