Their AWD gives excellent traction. Very important in the winter, here. Particularly with the way the city cleans side streets:-) I have a 2002 Impreza (2.5l standard tranny). 260,000 km. Just replaced brake pads on the front - the rear will likely never need it:-) Only problem I had was a blown head gasket - otherwise it has simply worked. Maintenance is a bit more expensive though. My boss has a 2003 Impreza (2.5l auto). He is contemplating trading it in for a newer one - and it has excellent resale value.
