The continuously variable transmission is, as of the last time I spoke to people in the field, still a nonrebuildable assembly in fact. Yes, parts exist. Yes, it can be taken apart and reassembled, and will often function for a while subsequent to repair...but apparently never for very long. Conventional transmissions (manual or automatic) are more durable. Manual trans produces better mileage in nearly every instance.
