Outline mode for jEdit? by Phoon 2007-07-25 03:56:02
I've been using jEdit fairly heavily, effectively displacing Emacs for my day-to-day editing. However, there's one thing Emacs can do that I've been trying to persuade jEdit to do: outline mode.

jEdit has excellent folding support, but by default it only supports indent-based folding or explicit folding. There is a plugin called SideKick that adds additional modes, but none of them are suitable. Neither is "Configurable Fold Handler", as it only allows for a single set of explicit fold markers.

What I'm looking for is something that only looks at the headers, ignoring body text (as outline-mode does). Each fold begins with a header and ends at the beginning of another header of the same or higher level.

Am I going to have to write this one as a jEdit plugin?
