Dilemma : XP vs Vista by klar_at_work 2007-07-25 00:41:18
If I get a chance to have XP installed on a new Shiney, should I go for it, or should I just let them put Vista on it?

Pro for XP:
Faster than Vista (on a 3GHz, 1Gb Memory)
Looks more like 2000
Use it at the office.

Con for XP:
Service for it will stop earlier than for Vista
No idea if Service Packs will still be made for it
Might only be available as XP NL, not XP UK/US.

Pro for Vista:
Looks spiffy
Won't be before 2010 before the successor will be launched

Con for Vista:
So daaaarrrrrnnnnnneeeddddd slow
So different from 2000 or XP, it will get my frustration level way up.

Price is about the same: EUR 100 for either OS.

So, I don't know. What would you advise?
