obvious if that was the problem or not. Now that I am really thinking about it they should have been able to tell if the CAT or if the exhaust was blocked by checking the backpressure and airflow coming out of the exhaust. I have seen some shops that have sensors specifically for that and to check for blow-by and other exhaust related indicators. (The reason I include the exhaust is that my old impala had a "kink" in the exhaust where something had hit it at speed and knocked the 2.5" pipe down to about 3/4 of an inch... to much backpressure and it did NOT want to run right.. :( The whole exhaust got replaced with 3" pipe after that. )
