if the current idea is a bad one (which assumes I have a way that could be seen as better, something I have never stated within this debate), to criticize it. I don't have to be a lawmaker, either, to criticize a law.

The current debate focuses on whether or not the specific idea of arming the general populace will be providing security or not. Stop changing topics, and stick to the current issue. Or are you falling into the "change topic when running out of arguments" habit yet again?

And since you assert in another post, that the acceptance of the troops is only skin deep, the local tribe leaders can easily turn on the troops, once these loose their firepower advantage.

Further, you seem to assume that the troops in Iraq have to work with the tribe leaders to provide security. Which is not strictly necessary for security alone (which is the only thing debated, currently).
