Video signal test rig question by suitably_vague2007-07-10 07:16:28
SMPTE 292M is also known as HD-SDI by vetitice 2007-07-10 08:13:20
Which will help a lot in searching for products.

I highly recommend Ensemble Designs BrightEye series. They're in the US, but I think they ship anywhere.

They sell HD stuff, in terms of up/down/cross converters and coax/optical links. The Up/Cross converters will output colour bars or you can plug a DVD player in for moving images. They're a great bunch of people. Their stuff has saved our lives where I worked several times.

Cobalt Digital also sell nice toys. They've been having some PSU issues, but maybe thats cos we're vibrating heck out of them at 40'C instead of using them in a studio.

We also use a PENPAL-HD as a portable signal source in the field. Eats batteries, but it has an AC adapter for desk use.

Feel free to email me jameson6063 at the yahoo service that is co.uk.

OK, back to getting SMPTE 292M running in helicopters....
