Video signal test rig question by suitably_vague 2007-07-10 07:16:28
I've been tasked by w*rk to do something outside my core competence, which is fine since I should learn something...
Basically, I need to find some equipment required to test the video signal passing through the moving parts of a submarine
periscope (which is the kind of thing we make here ), and I've been told that this means :
A signal generator producing SMPTE 292 output through coax
An SMPTE 292 Optical - Electrical converter
And an HDTV D to A converter - SMPTE 292 input through coax, output to an LCD monitor.
So have any other UFies used such things, and if so could they recommend sources (bearing in mind that I'm in the UK) ?
Useful advice would deserve geek points, I think.

SMPTE 292M is also known as HD-SDI by vetitice2007-07-10 08:13:20
