Web Application help - PHP, APACHE, and Zip by radiowave9112007-07-10 05:53:38
How to get the files zipped? by EnzoMatrix2007-07-10 06:46:25
Or just use a native PHP extension by Arancaytar 2007-07-10 07:04:39
http://php.net/zlib for more information. It's not activated by default, though, so you may have to recompile PHP or beg your host to do so.

However, it's safer (and if you have a shared host, easier) to install this than to go through the shell.
