Blegh. I have to write an essay. by PSYCHOI3OY 2007-07-10 02:15:25
Entrance essay for the university I'm going to apply for. 300-500 words, 5 paragraphs. There's 4 topic options, I can't help but pick this one:

"Computer technology has become an integral part of our lives. Discuss what you envision will be some of its important impacts on your life over the next ten years."

Well, considering I'm going for a BS in Computer Science, I hope it positively impacts my bank account over the next ten years. Other than that, however..... bleh, I hate writing. I was so glad they (theoretically will) take my English credits from JC. I'll still have to take an "Advanced Oral or Written Communication" class, unfortunately.

Think quantum computing and/or cryptography will be around in ten years? I'm pretty sure we'll be beyond silicon (or if we're still stuck with it, it'll have to be massively parallelized way beyond dual and quad core chips). I wonder what kind of market share Linux will have in 10 years.

Oh, look, there's my 3 talking points for a standard 5 paragraph essay. Now I just need to ... write stuff.
