politely label his fridge items. Our boys (both adults) frequently purchase foodstuffs for their personal consumption. We have a shelf that is designated as 'if you didn't put it there, it isn't yours to have'. It's usually junk food and each of them has different tastes and knows to only have whatever they have purchased and placed there. Fridge items are tagged like graffiti. Once in a while if an item went missing (usually the SO is the guilty offender), later placed items were marked graphically 'Hands-off!' (a bit rude and rarely tolerated).
