I guess to me the two seem very different. Religion (or lack of) affects a lot of the deep down stuff that defines who we are. The reason my wife and I click. What we do for a day job, not as much. In that case it would be more about not involving me in something important to her, or not thinking about the consequences to "us", which wouldn't match real well with the wife I love.

I guess if it was just a superficial conversion, the argument would change. But that also seems rather unattractive.
