Replacing laptop screen? by Bastetsmuse2007-07-09 18:25:15
Usually not worth it. by werehatrack 2007-07-09 19:04:26
I've occasionally seen someone luck out and find a replacement used screen cheap, but this is not a common outcome; laptops screens are expensive, not often stocked locally, and can be very idiosyncratic.

OTOH, I have seen a couple of people lugging around a 15" LCD monitor to use with their laptop, and I know one person whose desks at work and home each have a 19" LCD monitor that is used with a laptop that has a somewhat small screen.

It may be premature to junk the unit, but conventional repair is worse than iffy.
