As has been said elsewhere: Neither side here moved particularly clever. Without knowing the contents of the phone conservation, we cannot really say much. She could have proposed, he could have proposed, they could've screamed at each other. And who says she wasn't testing him? Given his reaction, maybe she was right to test his committal to the relationship beyond sex?
