...as understood by those who use it to describe men who are attracted only to physical beauty. The underlying biological imperative doesn't enter into the discussion with them, because we're supposed to be able to rise above our primal impulses, etc etc.

I prefer athletic, dark-haired Latinas with serious junk in the trunk. If that makes me shallow, then I'm shallow.
